Hi I'm Desiree! Founder of Desire For Change Counseling, LLC. I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida . I'm graduate of University of Central Florida where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. After spending a year in the field, I continued my education at Nova Southeastern University, earning a Master’s of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling. I began my counseling journey after realizing that many people are struggling to find their way through the difficulties of life. Whether the difficulties begin with stress, anxiety, depression or a traumatic event, I am dedicated to providing a confidential and collaborative approach to your treatment.

I believe in working together to help you reach a life of fulfillment, personal growth and resilience. I utilize a combination of several therapeutic orientations including motivational interviewing, strengths-based, person-centered, CBT, DBT, trauma-focused and mindfulness based techniques. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.

In our initial session, clients can expect a warm introduction and a safe space for discussing current challenges. This dialogue will be led with empathy as we identify current areas of distress and set goals for treatment.

My strengths as a provider are my years of experience across various settings. I have experience providing inpatient, outpatient, intensive outpatient, and residential counseling services to children and adults. As a provider, I excel at empowering individuals to take charge of their own lives and reach their full potential.
